♥ On Friday, February 27, 2009, our family suffered a devastating loss as Marco Fabris passed away due to colorectal cancer. This particular cancer is not commonly found in people younger than 40, and Marco’s 40th birthday was two weeks before he passed away. He was an active, life-loving man, a dedicated father of two, an adoring husband, and a generally wonderful person. To paraphrase my aunt Tina and cousin Anna, a link in our family chain has been damaged.
♥ Marco is not the only one that has been touched by a cancer below the waist in our family. Too many people have been taken from us. Too many families have been hurt. In loving honour of our dear Marco and all the others in our family that have been affected by any cancer, not just those below the waist, we take part in the Underwear Affair this year. We take part to give strength to their loved ones. We take part to show that our family chain is not broken.
